HAPPY NEW YEAR HOMIES!!
Every year, I make the same grandiose proclamation to start the new year.
THIS YEAR I WILL READ MORE BOOKS
Tikima, does the resolution last the entire year? HELL NAW. It fails and it fails miserably. I start the year with gumption by choosing lengthy business books that are hella boring and all of the gumption and excitement I began the new year with fade quickly. With that method, I would average approximately 3 books a year. 1 business book, 1 self-help book and lastly whichever manga my daughter is reading at the time. Yes, manga count too. It is all about balance homie.
This year I will NOT learn from my past failures and make the same grandiose proclamation...
THIS YEAR I WILL READ MORE BOOKS
(22 to be exact)
What will make this year different? You guys and a plan of course! MY online accountability homies will always have my back.
What is my plan you may ask? Well, here it is:
- Switch the genre often so I do not get bored
- Join a book club
- If the book does not spark joy,
On To The Next One (I hope you read that in your best Jay Z voice)
- Force my daughter to participate in the challenge with me. Hell, I need at-home support too.
- Comprise a list of books I would like to read this year so I am not scrambling to find a book.
- Set aside quality time to read.
I don't know if I mention this before but... this is my third straight year attempting this challenge. Therefore, I have a running list of one day I will read books. I added that list to my current #22booksin2022 list and I am currently sitting on 40 books I would like to read in 2022!!! As a person who gets overwhelmed quickly, I feel good knowing I have options.
Below, I am sharing the list I would be choosing the 22 books I would like to read or reread in 2022 from.
CURRENTLY SPEAKING POSITIVITY INTO EXISTENCE.
