Welcome To my little corner of the internet. I am thrilled you are here. In my first blog post, I would like to share with you what this blog is all about and why I decided to relaunch it. So, here we go:
Allow me to reintroduce myself. My name is Tikima Renee. I am a mother, personal trainer, entrepreneur, plant mom, podcaster, group fitness instructor, and forever student. I know it is a lot but it works for me. I am originally from Los Angeles California, so I can say I like long walks on the beach. I now live in the Washington Metropolitan Area where I now like long walks through the Smithsonian in D.C. I like to think of myself as bi-coastal even though I do not travel enough to consider myself that. I like to speak things into existence. I am a lover of all types of movement. Hiking, cycling, walking (I mentioned that before), dancing, and so much more. My main goal is to share my lifestyle and love for all things fitness with you.
WHAT TO EXPECT ON TIKIMARENEEFITNESS.COM?
I have so many areas of interest but the common denominator is wellness and gratitude. My post will have consist of workouts, recipes, mental health check-in, my setbacks, and my growth.
I will not pretend that I have everything together because I don’t. This is a space where I plan to be as authentically TIKIMA as possible. I mentioned that I had a blog in the past, so what happened you might ask? I did not feel like I was being my true self. I took some time to reconnect with self and here I am.
WHY A FITNESS BLOG?
I began working in the fitness industry in 2011 as a way to have fun, talk to adults (I had a 4-year-old at the time), get in shape, and get a free gym membership. Yes, you read correctly, I wanted a free gym membership too. I never knew that a part-time job working as a Zumba instructor will lead me into a career I love so much. Fast forward to today with multiple certifications to countless hours of study under my belt. I want to share my passion, knowledge, expertise, and joy for this industry with, you guys.
FINAL NOTE
I want to invite you to see my progress as I learn and grow in this industry. Please stay tuned! I would really appreciate it. If you are reading this post and you are someone who is thinking about starting a blog or getting into the fitness industry, my advice to you would be to START! DON’T WAIT ANY LONGER! You don’t have to have everything figured out before you start. You will only learn as you go along in the process. And don’t be afraid to make mistakes because mistakes help you to bring you to the next level.
